Dr Alisdair Smithies is an Associate Professor in Healthcare Leadership & Management at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, where he coaches leaders in healthcare and delivers leadership education for the NHS Leadership Academy. With over 20 years of experience, he has pioneered digital innovations in healthcare education, developing cutting-edge simulation, digital mobile tools, and immersive anatomy and physiology resources with leading global technology and publishing companies. A Fellow of the British Computer Society and Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, Alisdair has explored over 50 countries while maintaining his commitment to remote working and international collaboration. His work bridges leadership theory with practical digital capabilities, spanning NHS systems to international healthcare partnerships with the World Health Organisation and beyond.
